The 10 reinforced fiberglass ribs hold the canopy quite taut and do incredibly well on windy days. The main shaft appears to be thicker and more substantial than most. The fabric is very nice and attached very well to the spines. Auto-open/close, and open with a large enough canopy for you to walk comfortably and remain dry with something in your arms. The ergonomic handle is dimpled & comfortable to hold, it provides some extra gripping power when it's windy out there. It is compact enough to fit into your glove compartment or backpack without a great deal of hassle. You can take it out for a long trip, it withstands the elements very well. If the strong wind flips the umbrella inside out, it quickly flips back and shows no sign of being worse for wear.
